Why choose BRITA?

1. Customise your water

BRITA’s Variable bypass heads utilise technology that allow you to individually set your water filtration system to suit your water quality specific to your location.

The heads can be set at increments from 0%- 70% allowing you to filter 100% of all particulate matter and chlorine whilst bypassing a fixed percentage of the water away from the ion exchange resin media. This allows you to customise the amount of Calcium and Magnesium ions or total hardness left in your water.

In addition to customising your water, there are significant cost benefits to be gained with this technology as you are getting the most from it.

So, how do you walk that fine line between water that will produce the best coffee possible with it not being hard enough to damage your machine over time? The answer is a bypass head.

2 Machine Protection & Savings

BRITA-enhanced water also extends the service life of your

coffee-making equipment. All steam nozzles and other key components are protected against limescale and mineral deposits. You will increase the operational availability of your machinery and avoid repairs and downtime, to generate savings that boost your bottom line.

WHY FILTER?

It prevents deposits which means protects machinery and cuts costs:

➊ Water is heated.

➋ Hydrogen carbonate decomposes into carbonate and carbon dioxide.

➌ Carbon dioxide gas is released; pH rises, meaning the water becomes more alkaline.

➍ The lime-carbonic acid equilibrium is disrupted.

➎ Calcium combines with carbonate and forms limescale.

➏ Carbonate hardness in water has returned to solid calcium

3 Better crema, Finer aroma, Improved taste

The quality of the water that goes into each, and every cup makes a difference. If the coffee tastes bitter, generally soft water is the culprit. But excessively hard water prevents the aroma from developing, resulting in blandness.

With BRITA filtration systems, it is possible to optimise tap water for coffee-making, whatever the mineral composition of the local supply.

WHY FILTER?

It traps unwanted substances and creates the ideal mineral composition

Mains water may contain substances such as chlorine with a negative impact on taste and aroma. This is where targeted filtration makes a difference.
